MoH, SDAIA has established a centre of excellence for AI in the health sector

Dr. Tawfiq Bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, Minister of Health, and Dr. Abdullah Bin Sharaf Al-Ghamdi, President of the Saudi Data and Al Authority (SDAIA), inaugurated the Center of Excellence for Artificial Intelligence in the Health Field. They have agreed to a MoU.

Dr. Tawfiq Bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, Minister of Health, and Dr. Abdullah Bin Sharaf Al-Ghamdi, President of the Saudi Data and Al Authority (SDAIA), officially launched the Center of Excellence for Artificial Intelligence in the Health Sector here on Sunday in the presence of a variety of officials from both sections. During the opening ceremony, the Ministry and SDAIA signed a memorandum of understanding to begin collaborative work throughout many fields.

The collaborative work includes the implementation of a national plan for information and artificial intelligence in the health sector, support in developing the fundamentals and requirements for health data and artificial intelligence abilities, and the establishment of a national centre for excellence in data and artificial intelligence in the healthcare industry.

On this circumstance, the minister of health shared his joy at the center's opening and the signing of the memorandum of understanding, expecting that the unveiling and MoU would help to extend the provision of artificial intelligence care in the health domain, which will lead to the achievement of the Saudi Vision 2030 goals.

The SDAIA president encouraged the ongoing partnership between the Ministry and SDAIA, which falls under Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman's, the SDAIA chairman of the board of directors, guidelines to deepen governmental integration and strengthen efforts to improve amenities offered to people and residents.
